A NEW second hand furniture store aimed at offering assistance to those struggling through the recession has itself created 13 jobs in Castleisland.

The Kingdom Furniture Revamp Store - a community project supported by North and East Kerry Development - is the first of its kind in Kerry and the south west. All the furniture is donated and revamped and all funds earned are reinvested for business development.

Located at Crageens, the new store offers recycled furniture at affordable prices, with the operators also offering a collection service for any unwanted and used furniture from homes, businesses, hotels and guesthouses.

According to those behind the project, the Kingdom Furniture Revamp Store is responding to the growing market for second hand products at affordable prices.

Given the new market that's emerging, The Kingdom Furniture Revamp Store will be aiming to develop long term relationships with customers who are trading up and down now and in the future, depending on their personal and financial situations.

Anyone wishing to donate unwanted furniture of a reasonable standard - including chairs, tables, lockers, chest of drawers, mirrors, paintings, shelving, unwanted flat packs, clean pieces of timber and selected household goods - is asked to contact store manager, Eugene Glover, on 0667142576.

The new store is open from Monday to Thursday from 9.30am to 5.30pm and on Fridays from 9.30am to 4pm.
