PRESENTATION Secondary School in collaboration with St. Patrick's Boys' Secondary School will perform the musical 'Oliver' on Wednesday and Thursday, December 5 and 6 in St. John's Hall at 8pm.

The Presentation girls are well used to treading the boards having previously produced Annie, The Sound of Music, The Night Before Christmas and A Christmas Carol. This year the school is delighted to be teaming up with St. Patrick's to produce Lionel Bart's 'Oliver'.

The combination of the boys and girls on stage for the big showstopping numbers such as I'd Do Anything and Consider Yourself has been a fantastic experience.

"The schools share a great wealth of talent between them from all the localities around. Castleisland, Ballymacelligott, Currow, Cordal, and Scartaglin are all well represented on stage. The students have been working extremely hard since September with rehearsals every Wednesday between four and six. Recently a lot more evenings have also been given up to singing, acting and dancing," said spokesperson, Ailish O'Connor.

"We've all enjoyed the experience so far. The students have been brilliant to work with. We've had full attendance at rehearsals every evening. We really couldn't ask for any more from them. Parents have donated lots of props and costumes which have been a great help and we are very grateful for their input and support. We look forward to filling St. John's Hall on the two nights and providing a great night's entertainment," said Ms. O'Connor.

The teachers involved from Presentation are Ailish O'Connor, Annette Leen and Mairead Lane, with Denis O'Donovan from St. Patrick's.

Tickets are available from the school by ringing 066 7141178. Booking in advance is advisable as the tickets are selling very quickly already!

Main character list is as follows: Oliver - Jack Flynn, Cordal on Wednesday night and Grace Murphy, Castleisland on Thursday night; Fagin - Orla O'Connor, Scartaglin; Nancy - Statia Pedersen, Ballymacelligott; Bill Sikes, Paddy Flynn, Cordal; Dodger - Jack Walsh, Scartaglin.
