A man who is charged in connection with the alleged robbery of €28,000 worth of engagement rings from a Tralee jewellers has been remanded in custody until early next month.
At Tralee District Court last Wednesday Linards Jegorovs, a 31-year-old Latvian man with no fixed address in Ireland, appeared on charges of being in possession of stolen goods at Tralee Town Park on Tuesday November 6.
A previous sitting of the court heard that 15 diamond engagement rings, worth €28,000, had been taken from Billy Nolan's jewellers on Dominick Street that day. Four-off duty gardaí saw a man fleeing from the shop and gave chase. The man was detained at Tralee Town Park with the rings in his possession. Mr Jegorovs told the court he has no memory of the incident.
Judge James O'Connor remanded Mr. Jegorovs in continuing custody to appear at Tralee District Court on December 11.
