Rich heritage and sporting history to be recalled in a 'Celebration of Kerry'

KERRY'S rich historical, cultural and sporting history is to be recounted in a fantastic 'Celebration of Kerry' event taking place this Friday night, March 28, in Tralee's Grand Hotel.
Organised to raise funds for Killahan NS and Autism Unit in Abbeydorney, the novel event will be hosted by Deirdre Walsh of Radio Kerry and will celebrate the county's achievements and history through conversation, music, story and song.
Among the guests taking part in the special event will be Micheal O Muircheartaigh, Darragh O Cinneide, Edmund Harty of Dairymaster, Abbeydorney PP Denis O'Mahony and Kerry County Board hurling coach, Maurice Leahy. Others lined up to share their insights into Kerry's rich history will be well known musician and story teller, Sonny Egan, pictured, All-Ireland winning seanchai Brian Murphy from Causeway, Killahan NS past pupil and seven times All Ireland winning footballer Ann Costello and fellow past pupil Helen O'Hara who will discuss old times at the school.
Some of Kerry's most talented musicians will also provide entertainment on the night, among them the Crotta Scor Group, Causeway Comprehensive's music group and the hugely popular north Kerry trad group Na Muilita Fileata.
The event has been organised to raise funds for Killahan NS and its autism unit and tickets priced at €10 will be available at the door on the night.
The event kicks off at 8.30pm.
