Radio shows for Christmas

RADIO Kerry have announced their schedule to keep people company on Christmas Day.
For the 23rd year Christmas Day starts with A Christmas Carroll presented by Ted Carroll from 7am.
Billy Donegan is live with an All Irish Show Christmas Special until 2pm. Then enjoy two hour long documentaries by JJ O Shea, the first of which Victoria's Visit is an account of Queen Victoria's visit to Killarney in August 1861.
This is followed by John Main & the Path of Silence, the story of a revival in the contemplative tradition in Christianity and the Kerry man who inspired it. Sean Hurley presents a Kerrywide Christmas Special from 4pm and this is followed at 6.10pm by Recovering History by Alison Nulty which tells the story of the recovery of the anchors from The Aud earlier this year.
Frank Lewis presents a Tribute to Frank Hennessy between 7 and 8.30pm and round off Christmas Day by enjoying the Dance Halls of Kerry at Christmas with Peter Locke
Meanwhile on New Year's Eve, listeners are invited to tune into Weeshie Fogarty's St Finian's, Killarney, on New Year's Eve between 9 and 11am, which tells the story of St Finian's Psychiatric Hospital which closed its doors this year after 160 years and where Weeshie himself worked for 38 years.
