Petrel says no thanks

PETREL Resources, the company who recently uncovered up to a billion barrels of oil off the Kerry coast, have politely turned down an offer from Kerry County Council to help bring the oil ashore.
Following a suggestion by Mayor of Kerry Cllr Terry O'Brien (Lab), council management wrote to Petrel Resources inviting them to meet the Mayor and County Manager Tom Curran and offering every assistance should Petrel decide to bring the oil ashore in Kerry.
Petrel declined the invitation and said that, while it expected to begin drilling by 2014, it was still seeking business partners to join them in the management of the oil well.
Petrel said that a meeting with the Mayor and County Manager would only make sense once they actually had such a partnership in place.
