THE history of two of north Kerry's oldest railway lines form part of a new book by Martin Bairstow, ' Railways in Ireland.'
The fifth and final part of the Railways in Ireland series includes a detailed history of both the Tralee and Dingle Railway and the Listowel and Ballybunion line.
Ten pages of the book are dedicated to Kerry, with the author giving a detailed account of the working of both lines, where they served and when and why they closed - complete with a number of archive pictures of the working engines. Bairstow also includes a detailed map of each line.
The book is available from the Leeds-based author on 0044 113 2562711.
