FOLLOWING hundreds of nominations, a guesthouse in Dingle has made the top ten finalists in the search to find Ireland's best scone - and it's all down to mum's recipe.
Castlewood House, which sits overlooking the sea just at the edge of Dingle town, has made the Goodall's Best Scone shortlist having been nominated by its patrons.
Established in 2005, Castlewood House is run by Brian and Helen Heaton. "Our scone recipe was passed to me by my mother and our guests love them," said Helen. "I would like to thank all of our guests who nominated Castlewood House; winning Ireland's Best Scone would mean the world to our business and really put our B&B on the map."
The top ten will be whittled down to one by the judges but 50 per cent of the tally for each finalist will be decided by the public who can vote online at Goodalls.ie until this Friday July 5 at 5pm.
