THIS FRIDAY, December 6, sees the official opening of the Waterville Water and Wastewater Scheme by Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan.
The €8.6 million water and sewerage scheme was announced in 2010 in response to the need for services to keep up with the growth of developments in the town.
The new plant replaces the septic tank that previously served the town. Hosted by Mayor of Kerry, Cllr Séamus Cosaí Fitzgerald, the opening ceremony begins at 10am and takes place at the Treatment Plant Site on the Kenmare road, just a few miles from Waterville.
