THE Brendan McEvoy Memorial Climb for Cancer takes place on Sunday April 13 with all money going to The Kerry Hospice Foundation, Kerry General Hospital's Palliative Care Unit and oncology research.
The climb, which has been organised in memory the Brendan McEvoy who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer last year, will take the so called Pilgrim Route to the summit of Mount Brandon. The route is the easiest way to the summit and is suitable for even the most inexperienced climbers and walkers.
The walk is open to all and free buses to the starting point will depart from the Aquadome in Tralee at 9am on April 13. The walk will begin close to Ballydavid at 10.30am.
When the walk is complete the McEvoy family have organised an evening of entertainment with local band Tintean at Quanes Bar in Blennerville. The post walk event is open to anyone and is not restricted to those who took part in the climb.
