EIRCOM'S Director of Corporate Affairs Paul Bradley has met with members of Tralee Chamber Alliance to discuss plans to roll out "superfast" broadband to businesses in the town.
The phone and communications company is currently in the middle of a multi million euro expansion of its national fibre broadband network, which should see 70 per cent of the county able to access enhanced eFibre broadband networks by the end of 2016. Kerry's enhanced eFibre network is due to be fully complete and operational by the end of October.
Mr Bradley told Tralee Chamber Alliance that businesses in the town can expect to see a significant improvement in local broadband speeds.
"We know that superfast broadband is a must for all businesses, from sole traders to SMEs to large scale enterprises, with download speeds of up to 100Mbs and the fastest upload speeds in Ireland. Customers using our network in Tralee will see a six to 10 time improvement in their current broadband speeds, transforming their online experience," said Mr Bradley.
Tralee Chamber Alliance CEO Kieran Ruttledge said Eircom's commitment to improving broadband services in Tralee will provide a major boost to business in the town.
