Man robbed at knife-point

TRALEE Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed at knifepoint in the town in on Friday night.

Shortly before midnight on Friday the victim, a local man aged in his 50s, was walking through the St Brendan's Park estate when he was confronted by a youth who produced a knife and threatened to stab the man unless he handed over his wallet and valuables.

The victim, who was not injured but was left very shaken by the incident, was robbed of a sum of money before the youth fled the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing the mugger and anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the St Brendan's Park area on Friday night.

This was the third time in less than a fortnight that people walking alone through Tralee after dark have been mugged.
