Man hurt in traffic accident

A 60-year-old West Limerick man remains in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Abbeyfeale at lunchtime on Monday.

Gardaí in the town are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at Church Street at approximately 12.45pm.

A garda sporkesperson said the pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident at was taken by ambulance to Kerry General Hospital. The driver of the vehicle was later questioned by gardaí.

Anyone who witnessed the accident on Monday is asked to contact gardaí in Abbeyfeale on 068 30010
