A NORTH Kerry man has been sent forward for trial at Tralee Circuit Court for a number of alleged sexual assault offences.
The case came before Judge Mary Larkin at Listowel District Court on Thursday last, where Superintendent Michael Fitzpatrick outlined that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented for the accused to be sent forward for trial to the higher court.
Two of the offences are alleged to have happened outside of the country, with a number of other charges alleging the man sexually assaulted a person or persons in the north Kerry area.
Judge Larkin sent the man forward for trial to the next sitting of Tralee Circuit Criminal Court and granted solicitor Pat Enright's request for legal aid to cover the services of a junior counsel for the duration of the trial.
