MORE top culinary celebs and mouth-watering produce than ever before, the Listowel Food Fair is promising foodlovers everywhere a perfect beginning to the winter.
Apart from Martin Shanahan, TV healthyeating guru Dr Eva Orsmond and TV chef Edward Hayden will appear amid a dizzying range of high-quality food from local producers and much, much more. Chairperson Michelle O'Connor said the upcoming fair is going to be one of the biggest ever. It runs from Wednesday, October 31, to Sunday, November 4 at a number of venues in the town.
"We have attracted some of the most respected names from a range of sectors relating to food and healthy living, including Dr Eva Orsmond of Operation Transformation and TV Chefs Martin Shanahan and Edward Hayden. The Minister for Agriculture, Simon Coveney will host the annual Farming Seminar while the Food Fair will include a busy schedule of Kiddies Workshops," said Michelle.
Dr Orsmond will give the Last 'Diet' New Life seminar on the Wednesday night.
Martin Shanahan provides one of the highlight of the festival, giving a demonstration of the skills that have made him so popular at the Listowel Arms for launch night on Thursday, November 1.
The festival will also feature awards for the 2012 Homebaker of the Year, Best Emerging Artisan Food Product, the Bord Bia Schools' Competition and the Irish Food Book of the Year, Saturday Kitchen Live, the Food and Literary Taste Trail, Herbal Medicine Trail and a five-mile fun run followed by rehydration advice from world champ John Treacy.
