A FATHER of three who scooped €20,000 in cash on Friday night's Late Late Show said this week the win will lift a great weight off his shoulders.
Thomas O'Connor from Ardfert told The Kerryman that the cash prize made for an incredible start to the new year, and will go some way towards paying off his overdue bills.
Mr O'Connor, whose children are aged 15, three and two years of age, said that, like many people these days, he is finding it difficult to make ends meet and the €20,000 prize will help him greatly in getting on top of things.
"It couldn't have come at a better time and has been a great weight off my shoulders," he said. "Like so many people , there are lots of bills to be paid so this couldn't have come at a better time."
Mr O'Connor was on the way out to a neighbour's house in Ardfert when he got the call from Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy, having earlier texted the show with the answer to a multiple choice question. He said that from the moment he came off the phone on Friday night, he was inundated with calls, texts and Facebook posts from well-wishers.
"I juts want to thank everyone for all their good wishes. It has been unbelievable and we are very grateful," he said.
