Knocknagoshel Despatch to the world tells it like it is

THE annual Knocknagoshel Despatch is out now and it's full of very interesting articles on the entire parish, from times gone by to the present day.
Edited by Luke Keane ( pictured below), it's an annual favourite in the hill-top community and sells widely across the entire region. Complete with pictures of local people at work and play, it opens as it continues with a very informative article on the new Bishop of La Ceciba in Honduras, Michael Lenihan - with a name like that it was no surprise to his new diocese that he came from Knocknagoshel. It is also a great record of the time for future historians and Luke Keane's foreword pulls no punches: "The year of 2012 will go down in history as the wettest on record. Our country is in deep depression and emigration is raging once more making it a sad time for many.
"However, we must not give up hope and perhaps we may see better times before long!"
It is available now in Knocknagoshel Post Office, Tom Dillon's in Kilconly, Herlihy and Moloney's Petrol stations, Moss Hartnett's, Tuohigs and Anne Lyons's in Abbeyfeale, Gaire's in Duagh and in Listowel, Lyreacrompane, Castleisland and Tralee.
