ARE you a West Kerry man who can't cook, won't cook? Or is it a case of want to cook but can't?
Either way, a new cookery course supported by North and East Kerry Development aimed at men living in the West Kerry area hopes to ensure that local men can get stuck in the kitchen while at the same time providing support and social interaction.
"North and East Kerry Development is offering a cookery course starting in October, one evening a week for six weeks," Joanne Ní Shuailleabháin of NEKD explained. "In addition to learning a new skill, the aim of the course is to provide a social outlet for men."
The course programme is negotiable and men will have the opportunity at the start of the course to discuss what culinary skills they would like to cultivate.
"Once this course has been successfully completed, we would like to continue on with something else – the eventual aim is to move towards establishing a support group for men in West Kerry."
