THE case of a man who pick-pocketed a shopper and stole cash from a Kenmare bakery will be finalised on December 7. Noel O'Shaughnessy (45), of 11 Cedar Grove, Mallow, who has 137 previous convictions, had pleaded guilty at Kenmare District Court to the theft of a purse, the property of Margaret Donnegan, at SuperValu, Railway Road in Kenmare on March 31 last. The purse contained €150 in cash.
He also pleaded guilty to burglary at The Breadcrumb Bakery on April 1. The court heard that the accused entered the premises by the backdoor and made off with €300 from the cash register.
O'Shaughnessy's solicitor Pádraig O'Connell said his client, who was accompanied by his wife, had brought the sum of €100 into court, further to €1,000 in compensation paid in September.
