HSE launch information service

The HSE have launched a new information service 'HSELive', which is designed to inform the public about entitlements and how to access services in their area.

The new service - which can be accessed by phone; on Twitter, via email or through a LiveChat system on the HSE's main website - was developed on the back of research that close to a third of Irish people find it difficult to understand how local health services are organised.

According to the executive, the HSELive team will be available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and from 10am to 5pm on Saturdays to answer queries.

The information they can provide relates only to entitlements and HSE services and HSELive will not provide any clinical or medical advice.

"We developed HSELive in response to an identified public need for better information about where to go and what to do when it comes to accessing health services," said Kirsten Connolly of the HSE Communications Office.

We continue to look forward to receiving comments through direct email contact or via social media, some of which may still be featured on the website Independent.ie
