THIS Sunday September 23 a Harvest Community Day will be hosted in the Dingle Town Park in association with Transition Town Corca Dhuibhne, Dingle Tidy Towns and the Kerry Bicycle Festival.
The 'mini-family festival' of sorts will take place from 12noon to 4pm but beforehand a 'fancy-dress optional' family cycle will take place, leaving Dingle Marina at 11.30am and concluding at the park just in time for the Harvest Day.
Everyone in the community is invited to come along and share food and conversation in the park which has really been transformed lately by those engaging in the community employment scheme making it a very welcoming place for families to visit.
Some great entertainment is promised on the day including music from the Dingle Carnival Band, an 'Ireland v Poland' basketball challenge match, face-painting, bike art and maintenance with Paddy from the bike shop and a youth disco with DJ Ciaran Williams to mention just a few of the activities.
The festival was postponed the last time due to rain however this Sunday if the weather doesn't play ball an alternative indoor location will be advertised at the gate of the park.
