IN an effort to help those most in need this Christmas, The Kerryman has teamed up with the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) to launch The Kerryman/ SVP Christmas Appeal.

The joint venture aims to offer assistance to the hundreds of families who are struggling financially this Christmas, by providing them with the ' Three Fs' - Food, Fuel and Finance.

The Kerryman is asking readers, community groups, schools and businesses to come on board and support the initiative by donating any of the above between now and Christmas.

Christy Lynch of the SVP in Tralee said that there has never been a more important time to donate to the organisation, as volunteers work round the clock to meet demand from struggling families.

"It has never been as bad and this initiative is going to help us so much," said Christy, who is encouraging everyone in need of help to get in touch. "Last year we helped 650 homes in Tralee and the greater north Kerry alone, and every donation is vital."

If you want to be part of this amazing initiative and help a family in need this Christmas, simply drop off your food, fuel or finance - no matter how big or small - to The Kerryman offices in Denny Street Tralee or Kenmare Place, Killarney.

Coal, briquettes, non perishable foods and cash will all be gratefully accepted.

And if you cant get to us, we can come to you - just let us know by getting in touch on (066) 7145500 or (064) 6635823.
