RUMOUR has it that Kilflynn businessmen Mike Parker and John Byrnes are swapping the bar and restaurant trade for a more glamorous life on the catwalk, such was the success of their modelling debut at a fundraising fashion show on Friday night.
The local publican and restaurateur were among a number of special guests who took to the catwalk at the Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee to raise funds for the local national school. Crotta star hurlers Richard Nolan and Sean Weir also strutted their stuff to the delight of the crowd, while sixth class pupils Darragh O'Donoghue, Eamonn Rohan, Sinead Coleman and Keith Lynch were brilliant as they showcased the latest fashion trends.
Co-ordinated by Upftront model management in Tralee, Friday night's event was deemed a tremendous success by St Teresa's NS principal Mary Carroll, who thanked the community for their amazing support.
Ms Carroll said the money raised will go towards the development of an astro turf pitch at the school, which celebrated its centenary last May.
Meanwhile, two local women who went home very happy on Friday night were Ann Marie Chawke and Joanne O'Mahony, who were voted best dressed ladies by Jasmine Boutique owner, Diane Jeffers.
