USUALLY he is the one making deliveries, but Ballylongford postman Moss Moriarty was required to be the big recipient on Saturday night of scores of best wishes on his retirement.
"Moss is hugely popular and the turn out on Saturday night in Speedy's certainly showed how highly he is thought of," Ballylongford postmistress Jennifer Allen said after a mighty retirement party for Moss.
The Ballylongford native was a part-time postman for 10 years and has been working full-time in Ballylongford for the past seven years.
Among the guests was An Post Delivery Service Manager Mary Byrne who came from Tralee for the big party.
"We're very sad to see him go but wish him the very best. He was the most obliging postman ever and Ballylongford is deeply fond of Moss," Jennifer added.
