FIANNA Fail has denied that it is investigating a complaint surrounding voting procedures at the recent convention in Listowel at which John Brassil and Jimmy Moloney were selected to contest next year's General Election.
In a statement to The Kerryman this week, a spokesperson for party headquarters insisted that while issues were raised about voting prior to the convention, these issues were dealt it and clarified prior to the convention and that only people who were entitled to vote actually voted.
Senator Ned O'Sullivan also insisted that no official complaint was made during or since the convention and accused those of saying otherwise of 'casting unfair aspersions' on the two successful candidates who he said came through a very demanding test.
"It is very unfair that their achievement at the convention should be in any way tarnished," he said.
