DEDICATED followers of fashion are set to descend on the Devon Inn Hotel in Templeglantine next Thursday, October 18, for a fundraising fashion show in aid of the invalid section of the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
Models from the renowned Celia Holman Lee agency will be showcasing the latest autumn/winter looks from a host of boutiques across west Limerick and north Kerry, including Annette's Boutique, Esther's, Little Rascals and The Closet in Abbeyfeale, Kimonos, Platform and Bella A Sola in Newcastle West; Brides of Glin and Dress to Impress and Finesse of Listowel.
The proceeds of the fashion show will enable up to 100 sick people in the diocese to make a trip to Lourdes, which takes place next year between June 21 and 26. This is one of the biggest events in the diocese, organisers explained, which helps bridge the gap between the young people and the elderly of the area.
"Up to 90 young people as well as other voluntary helpers will travel and care for our sick while in Lourdes," Marion White explained. "By supporting this event we are pledging our support to the invalid section of the pilgrimage which is a truly uplifting event."
Tickets for Next Thursday's fashion show are available at the door for €10. Guests will be treated to a cheese and wine reception at 7.30pm with the show kicking off at 8pm.
