IT IS always billed as one of the most popular social events of the fashion calendar in Kerry, and Sunday's Ladies Luncheon and Fashion event certainly didn't disappoint, attracting over 150 stylish ladies to Ballyroe Heights Hotel for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Organised by Margaret Brick of Connexions Marketing, the fourth bi-annual event raised in excess of €2,000 for cancer support house, Recovery Haven, and provided a superb afternoon of fun and fashion for those there to support it.

After being treated to a champagne reception and four course lunch, the ladies enjoyed a top class fashion show featuring the latest trends from the county's leading boutiques. Guests were also treated to several new creations from award winning designer Tina Griffin and young designer Hazel Comyn, along with all 12 boutiques involved in the Castleisland - Fashion Capital of Kerry' initiative.

Local fashionistas Clare Murphy and Olivia Wall had the unenviable job of choosing the best dressed lady on the day, with award eventually going to Magdalen Gentleman, who stunned in a beautiful floral designed jumpsuit from Jasmine. Meanwhile, Michelle O'Hara was awarded the best hair accolade, courtesy of Sean Taaffe.

Such was the success of the event that the next one is already being planned, with Margaret hoping to repeat the fashion spectacle in Ballyroe Height Hotel this November.
