CASTLEISLAND was the style captial of Kerry last Wednesday as the ' High Fashion at Crag Caves' took to the catwalk.
The event - hosted by 'Castleisland, The Fashion Capital of Kerry' - was deemed a huge success. It was sold out; it featured stunning models; it thrilled the audience and, most importantly, it raised substantial funds for Castleisland DayCare Centre.
The show new designer labels from top Castleisland boutiques, La Femme, Hannons, Joi, Fashion World, In Style, plus the latest in menswear from Jackie Reidy Menswear and JK O'Connor, and footwear from Costello Shoe Store, eyewear from Galvin's Optometrists and millinery from the very talented Breda Galwey, Hats a Head.
As well as professional models Castleisland's own runway stars, including Miss Kerry Clionadh O'Connor, Liz Galwey and top international model, Aishling O'Connell, graced the catwalk and thrilled the crowds. New faces were the beautiful Jessica Murphy from Castleisland and Aine Bunyan. The men of Castleisland also worked the runway with Matthew Aherne, Shane O'Leary, Maurice Casey, Mike Murphy and Mikey O'Connor joining top model Craig Flood.
However, the biggest cheers were for the three fabulous models from Castleisland Daycare Centre , Ita and Anna Lane and Monica Prenderville.
Michael Mulcahy, publisher of new Munster Social magazine, HI, judged the Best Dressed Lady along with fashionista Orlagh Winters. The winner, Gretta O'Connell won an selection of amazing prizes sponsored by Flowers by Sheila, Hi magazine and Fashion World Boutique.
Marcella Finn, Manager of Castleisland Daycare Centre, outlined the tremendous work done by the DayCare Centre. Crag Caves Manager, Lisa Geaney spoke on behalf of the organisers and thanked and acknowledged everyone who had contributed to making the night such a success.
Make up was sponsored by Marion Fitzgerald of Marion's Beauty Salon and Caroline Murphy and Maria O'Mahony of Woman's World and hair was by Cathriona and Aishling from Shine Hair Dressing and Nora Drumm of Nora's Hair Salon. Garvey's SuperValu sponsored the pre drinks reception and there was an after-party at Chef Gerard's \ Browne's Bar.
The flower arrangements were by Flowers by Sheila. Lisa Geaney and her team at Crag Caves were great hosts and provided the perfect venue.
