PUMPKIN carriages, prince charmings and ugly sisters brought the house down at the Carmody Memorial Hall on Sunday for the Ballylongford Christmas Panto.

Ella Cinderella was the name of the panto, the work of local woman Kathy McEnery, scores of parent volunteers and a fantastic cast of local children. It was, of course, the

age-old magical story of Cinderella but with a few local Ballylongford twists of their own thrown in for good measure. One thing is sure: it's a village that knows how to get into the panto spirit, with plenty of audience and cast interaction ensuring Ella Cinderella kicked off the wonderful Christmas month just perfectly for the

young people of Ballylongford!
