Starting on Thursday, November 21, next and running until the following Sunday, the Listowel Food Fair is set to bring some of the most respected people in the culinary world to town as well as promoting some of Kerry's finest artisan food producers.

It has already enjoyed a smash-hit launch with a Fashion and Food Gala night held in Allo's Bistro and Restaurant recently, where succulent treats mixed with the latest in haute couture available locally.

Since then, interest has been growing fast and with only six weeks to go the new Facebook campaign is really coming into its own.

"This is our first time ever using Facebook to promote the fair and it's generating a lot of interest which is very encouraging," organising committee member Pierse Walsh - of John R's Home Bakery and Delicatessen - said.

"We really feel there's renewed interest among local businesses too at the moment as many establishments in the trade will be taking part," Pierse added.

One of the highlights of this year's Food Fair will be the appearance of chef Simon Regan. Head chef at the Hotel Europe, Simon is rated one of the best in the business and was recently asked to cook for the annual Irish chefs' awards in an indication of precisely how well regarded he is.

The full programme will be published in the coming weeks as town once again whets its collective appetite for an amazing feast.
