Exam day arrives with the sun

CLOSE to 2,000 students will begin their Leaving Cert examinations across Kerry on Wednesday morning when the 2013 Leaving Cert commences with English paper one.

The 2013 exams begin at 9.30am on Wednesday when 1,887 students, 964 boys and 923 girls, will begin their final school exams with a further 101 students taking the Leaving Cert Applied across the county.

As well as the Leaving cert candidates 2,001 third year students will also be beginning their Junior Certificate Exams which also begin with English paper one on Wednesday morning.

The exams are due to run until Friday June 21 and over the rest of this week the Leaving Cert students will also be tackling higher and ordinary levels exams in Home Economics, Engineering, Geography and the first of two Maths papers.
