A BEAUTIFUL idea is taking shape in Dingle at the moment as local beauticians Elaine Higgins and Melanie Brosnan announced an inventive way to raise funds for Kerry Hospice – by offering a day of beauty treatments at their Main Street salon.
Ladies - and indeed gentlemen - will be able to have everything from a pedicure to a facial, from a wax to an eyelash tint and everything in between at Elaine and Melanie's salon on Saturday October 20 and all takings on the day arising from the treatments will be donated to Kerry Hospice. The beauticians will also be hosting a number of other fund-raising activities in an effort to push the total raised even higher.
The generous gesture was thought up by Elaine and Melanie in an effort to give back to the local community as they celebrate two and a half years in business this month.
"We opened in a recession and we have been really touched by the level of local support we have received," said Elaine, "I suppose we wanted to do something so we could give back in some small way to the people of the locality."
"We chose Kerry Hospice because every family has been affected by cancer in some way," Melanie added, "it's a great cause and we hope to raise as much as we can."
Elaine and Melanie are inviting people to book their treatments at Pure Beauty in advance and people can also drop in on the day.
"We'd like to carry out as many treatments as possible on the day and we will be open on Saturday October 20 from 9am to 6pm," said Elaine. "People can also pop in and donate if they'd like to support the cause but don't have the time for a treatment."
Pure Beauty is located on Main Street, Dingle; if you wish to participate in the fundraising effort or book an appointment call or text the salon on 087-0921480.
