TRALEE Sinn Fein Councillor Pat Daly, in what was described as one of the best received speeches at the Sinn Fein Ard Fheis in Wexford, seized the occasion to deliver a strongly worded attack on the Labour party.
The Tralee-based solicitor received a lengthy ovation for his speech which claimed that while, "Labour promised revolution, we got destitution."
A number of those who attended last weekend's Ard Fheis have taken to social media to say that Cllr Daly's speech, while well down the agenda, was one of the event's strongest and most talked about.
With Labour expected to be Sinn Fein's most direct rivals in Tralee in May's elections it was probably no surprise that Cllr Daly would use his speech to attack them and his well-received speech has helped place him firmly among the Sinn Fein party's rising stars.
