CREDIT unions across Kerry will this Thursday celebrate International Credit Union Day -an event designed promote the credit union idea around the world.
The theme this year is 'Members Matter Most,' which underlines the co operative spirit, emphasising value, trust, security and service to members.
Speaking ahead of Thursday's day of celebration, Christy Killeen Secretary to Chapter 23 and a Director with Listowel Credit Union said that thanks to members, credit unions continue to play a vital role in the development and financial stability of the communities we serve by providing fair loans and high quality service to our members.
"We hope people will join us in celebrating the credit union difference on International Credit Union Day and the wonderful opportunities credit union membership offers people for many years to come," he said. Chapter 23 represents Credit unions of Kerry and West Limerick, Tralee, Killarney, Killorglin, Cahersiveen, Rathmore, Milltown, Listowel, Ballybunion, Clanmaurice, Chorcha Dhuibhne Dingle, Kenmare, Abbeyfeale and Desmond (Newcastle West).
