CHRISTMAS brings with it many surprises but residents of Dingle's Cúilín were treated to a nasty surprise on their doorstep this festive season as bags of household waste were strewn carelessly on one of the grassy lots of the local cul-de-sac.
The bags, discovered by residents in the days after Christmas, were dumped in clear view of the homes of local residents and were the cause of great disgust.
The remnants were clearly what remained of somebody's Christmas dinner and the carcass of a turkey was among the refuse dumped thoughtlessly on the grassy area in front of the cottages in Cúilín. A number of empty plastic bags and other household refuse was also dumped.
A concerned local contacted The Kerryman about the incident raising concerns that the dumping could potentially attract rats and other vermin.
