THE 2012 Rose of Tralee festival has been hailed as a major success by the Tralee Chamber Alliance who are calling on local businesses to build on the success of this year's event.
This year's Rose of Tralee International Festival was an economic success and the onus is on the local business community to use it to their advantage going forward, according to the President of Tralee Chamber Alliance, Pádraig McGillicuddy.
"The positivity surrounding this year's event is infectious. Everyone reported dramatic increases in numbers, takings, a hassle-free event that was well policed and more family orientated," said Mr McGillicuddy.
"There was a Zero tolerance approach by Gardaí and their presence on the streets was welcome, yet discreet. We have heard wonderful reports from the public, locals and visitors alike, that the street carnival was most entertaining and very well attended while the airshow was also brilliant," said Pádraig.
