FOOTBALLERS and hurlers throughout the Kingdom will be in safe hands in 2013 after the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee announced that it has become the Healthcare Partner to the GAA in Kerry.
A number of hospital Consultants are looking forward to meeting the club officials early in the New Year to outline, in detail, what is on offer and to learn how they can meet the clubs' needs.
The Manager at Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, Donna Roche, said: "The GAA is the lifeblood of every community in Ireland and we are proud to team-up with Kerry GAA, one of the most successful sporting teams in the country. Our expertise and facilities are available whenever the need may arise through injury or to help clubs maintain the level of player-fitness required to compete at the highest level.
"Our team at the Bon Secours Hospital encompasses a comprehensive range of clinical specialties and diversity of sub-specialty interests that will meet the needs of Kerry club and inter-county players of the past, present and future."
The Tralee hospital is part of the Bon Secours Health System which shares the healing ministry of Bon Secours and the Catholic Church and a proud legacy of care remains strong and vibrant in Tralee.
A major employer in Kerry, with over 700 staff and more than 40 Consultants, this hospital has seen substantial investment since its inception with further development to commence in 2013.
The neighbouring Kerins O'Rahillys GAA Club has recently benefitted from a business arrangement with the Bon Secours, as staff from the hospital park now their cars at the club to make space in the hospital car-park for patients and their visitors.
The Kerry County Board Chairman, Patrick O'Sullivan, said: "We are delighted to officially welcome Bons Secours Tralee as our Healthcare Partner and the lead sponsor of our new-look Kerry GAA website which is our key tool in informing players, supporters and general GAA enthusiasts of what our organisation in Kerry has to offer. We are immensely proud of our heritage and are passionate about Kerry GAA.
As with the GAA, The Bons Secours Hospital Tralee has a long and distinguished history of being at the heart of the Kerry community. We look forward to a long working relationship with The Bons Secours as our official Healthcare partner."
