The Annual Careers Fair, which has been organised by the Kerry Branch of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, will be attended by representatives of all the leading universities, institutes of technology and teacher training colleges from around Ireland, as well as Post Leaving Certificate colleges from Kerry, Cork and Limerick and the agricultural colleges.

The list of exhibitors also includes universities from the UK and other organisations involved in direct training such as the Defence Forces, the Gardaí and the National Learning Network who will all be available to provide information to students and parents on career possibilities

The annual event is attended by hundreds of senior cycle students and their parents, as well as adults who are thinking about updating their skills and educational qualifications.

Tickets for the event are €5 and are available at the door or from guidance counsellors in second level schools.

In addition to the careers fair, the Institute of Guidance Counsellors have also organised a briefing session for parents on both the impact of the guidance cuts in Kerry schools and the HEAR and DARE college finance support programmes at The Brandon on Tuesday November 20 from 7pm.
