MEMBERS of Causeway Macra are extending an open invitation to runners and walkers of all ages and ability to take part in their charity fun run this Sunday, April 6.
Organised to raise funds for Recovery Haven - one of Kerry's leading cancer support charities - the event will see participants take on the well known 'Ring' around Causeway village, setting off at 2pm.
Already, up to 150 people have pledged their support and will be taking part in Sunday's event, while close to 60 additional sponsorship cards have been sought by locals.
The fundraiser is being organised by Causeway Macra members John Carroll and Padraig Lucid who are anxious to stress that the event is not a competitive one, rather a fun community get together.
"The whole idea behind this is to raise as much money as we can for Recovery Haven," John said.
"The whole point is that people don't have to be super fit to take part. They can walk, jog or even crawl if they want, it doesn't matter."
The event has gathered much momentum since it was first mooted a few months ago and organisers are expecting a great crown on Sunday. Registration takes place in the village between 12.30 and 1.30pm.
