The late Colette Leen COLETTE Leen of 24, River Walk, Oakpark Demesne, Tralee, aged 53 died on September 12, 2012.
Born in Tralee, to parents Michael & Elizabeth Leen (RIP), Courthouse Place, Tralee, she was one of eight children, Marie (RIP), Roseann, Carmel, Brendan, Connie, Ronnie & Pauline.
Colette has two children Roseann, John, and two grandchildren. Colette went to school in Moyderwell and Balloonagh Convent.
Her companion was Aldo Fusciardi (RIP). She settled in Tralee and worked side by side with Aldo for many years.
She worked very hard to establish her home in Riverwalk, Oakpark with her two small children at the time. She was very happy to reside there and always felt she was blessed with her neighbours.
She loved going to concerts. Neil Diamond would have been top of her list with Cher, Tina Turner and Elton John to follow.
She travelled a lot with her brother Brendan to concerts and would love his BBQ ribs when they would appear.
Colette spent 18 years going to Crumlin Hospital with her son John and she fundraised many times out of gratitude for their care in Crumlin.
Colette went on to develop a passion for fishing, especially in Fenit with her friend Ann and caught many fish and made many friends.
Colette was very much part of a group of friends which met up every week and chat about the week gone by. It became a very important part of her life.
She had a special friend called Marian who she called her "soulmate". Colette became fascinated with angels in the last couple of years and even had angel healings done on herself.
She would share this experience with her many friends. In April/May 2009 Colette was diagnosed with cancer in which she battled with so bravely to the end.
She made many new friends in Kerry General and the Palliative Care Unit and the Primary Care Team.
Colette was a very private and proud person and let very few know of how really sick she was.
Colette will be so greatly missed and loved by all who was privileged to have known her.
