TRALEE received a jobs boost this week with the creation of 30 new jobs at the new Abbeycourt outlet of discount chain Dealz which opened on Thursday.
The new Dealz outlet is located in the new extension to the Abbeycourt shopping development in the heart of Tralee.
On Thursday, after some two weeks of working kitting out the new outlet, the retail chain open the new 650 square metre retail unit which overlooks the Abbey Car Park at Tralee's Abbeycourt retail area.
Dealz' new outlet occupies two thirds of the building. The discount supermarket retail chain, A subsidiary of Poundland in the UK which also has a store in Killarney, had been long rumoured as a potential tenant for the town's newest landmark building though the deal was only finalised in recent months.
The owners of the building are understood to be in negotiations with a number of potential tenants who have expressed an interest in opening outlets in the remaining third of the building.
Dealz Business Manager Leonard Brassil said the company was excited about the new Tralee outlet.
"We're very excited about expanding the Dealz portfolio in Ireland with the opening of Dealz Tralee our second Kerry store. The new store is the 28th Dealz store to open in Ireland and has created 30 new jobs for the Kerry area," he said.
