170 motorists checked and NOT ONE over limit

DRINK driving remains a persistent problem in Kerry, according to gardaí, but a massive Garda operation that 'bagged' 170 drivers in Killarney over the weekend found that not a single one was over the limit.
Killarney was targeted in the Garda drink driving show of force because the town is South Kerry's busiest night spot. But after breath testing 170 drivers between 12.30am and 1.30am as pubs closed on Sunday morning, no arrests were made.
Gardaí in the town say the lack of arrests on Sunday morning reflects a change in attitudes. But they said there is no room for complacency.
'Attitudes have changed towards drink driving, the figures are a testament to that but there are still people out there who may take the chance,' Superintendent Florence Murphy said.
