A winner takes all U-15 rugby final between Castleisland and Tralee will be played at The Crageens on this Saturday morning at 11am.
The teams met last November at the same venue and the Islanders came out on top on that occasion. However, the team management of Peter Browne, John Nolan and Tom Griffin urged supporters of the game locally to turn up in great numbers to get behind the local lads on Saturday morning in their bid for county glory.
True to the long-standing tradition of the game in Castleisland the team is made up of players from hill and valley all around. Only four of the fifteen hail from Castleisland itself.
The rest are from the villages which ring the valley and which support it in so many other ways in its day to day existence.
The captain, Darragh Curtin is from Knocknagoshel - home to his father Donal's people and his mom is a native of Currow and all that implies in rugby circles.
All three coaches played the game at various levels and they feel that their squad is as well prepared as they can be. They are really hoping that they will get the support they feel their team deserves as they face Tralee on Saturday morning.
Good luck to them in their quest.
