IT has been aired several times before but Thursday night's ' Waiting for Houlihan' will carry an extra poignancy with it now that the great man has left the stage.
The documentary, which was directed by Tralee native Maurice Healy, will be screened at 10.45pm on this Thursday night and fitting so as it is the eve of Con Houlihan's final journey home.
On Friday morning after 11am mass the ashes of the greatly admired journalist and writer will be taken on the journey to Kilbanivane. There, he will be buried with his parents and sister, Marie and her husband, Peter Durham in the family plot.

Con has travelled many miles and roads in pursuit of a career he chose from a menu of so many at his disposal. Now he has one final journey to make and that, no doubt, won't go unnoticed or without celebration. May God be good to him.
