Volunteers wanted for cancer patient transfer service
Published 01/05/2013 | 05:36
THE Irish Cancer Society is currently seeking volunteers from Kerry to provide cancer patients with safe, comfortable and confidential transport to and from Kerry General Hospital, Cork University Hospital and the Mercy University Hospital, Cork.
The Care to Drive programme allows cancer patients access free transport to and from their chemotherapy treatment, removing the stress and difficulty of travelling at a challenging time. Suitable volunteers would require free weekday availability and would need to commit to two weekdays a month. A contribution would be paid towards their fuel allowance and toll road costs.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or are looking for further information, please contact Gail at 'Care to Drive' at the Irish Cancer Society on (01) 231 05 66, email firstname.lastname@example.org or see www.cancer.ie
