THE trademark locks of Dingle plumber Tom Kennedy will be no more come this Saturday as he prepares to shave the whole lot off in an effort to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society.
The craic is sure to be mighty in Paul Geaney's on Main Street as Tom prepares to whip it all off, from the ample beard on his face to the bouffant of hair on his on his head, as part of Today FM's Shave or Dye fundraiser.
Tom will be joined on the night by his two employees Pawelo Szczepanski and Derek Bowler who are also lending their support to the cause by dyeing their hair a yet unknown shade - although there is a rumour circulating that Derek may soon be able to give Pink a run for her money ... .
"So many people are affected by cancer in the area, my own father died from it, so we just wanted to lend our support to the Shave or Dye initiative," Tom said."I have a lot of hair; I have never had my head shaved and I have had a beard for the past 10 years so it'll be interesting to say the least!"
Tom, who is used to close shaves of another kind as a member of Dingle Cliff & Coast Rescue, will tackle the shave 'head-on' this Saturday night in Geaney's at around 10pm and all are welcome to come along and lend their support.
