OVER 30 volunteers from Killarney Tidy Towns took part in a special tidy-up operation at Chesire Home on St Margaret's Road last week.

Locally labelled their very own 'operation transformation', they were called into action by Tim O'Sullivan of Countess Road, who has been integral in the home's fundraising efforts since it was first built.

Tim has also been a key element of the local meitheal and so volunteers didn't think twice as they cut a swathe through briars, nettles and weeds, giving the building a welcome facelift in the process.

The 'operation' began shortly after 6pm last Monday and by 9pm the site was in pristine condition.

"We were delighted to be able to assist Tim who is one of our most active volunteers," Killarney Tidy Towns member and chamber president Johnny McGuire stated.

"The large turnout tonight is testament to Tim's efforts locally which are immeasurable. The Chesire Home is a marvellous facility of enormous benefit to its residents and everyone here tonight is delighted to help out in any way," Johnny added.
