THREE Kerry Gala outlets have been named among the winners at this year's Gala awards.
O'Shea's Gala in Blennerville, Dunne's Gala in Cahersiveen and Gala Oakpark Tralee, each won awards at the 2012 Gala Annual Conference and Awards Ceremony took place recently at the Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny hosted by RTE's Miriam O'Callaghan. County Kerry was the biggest winner on the night scooping more awards than any other county.
O'Shea's Gala, Dunne's Gala and Gala Oakpark won Gold, Silver and Bronze standard awards respectively.
The accolades were awarded following a comprehensive and independent assessment process under the Gala Business Excellence Standards Tool programme.
Dunne's Gala received further acknowledgement on the night and was presented with the Special Category Off Licence Award.
Mary O'Shea, of O'Shea's Gala, which also won first place in the recent Tralee Tidy Towns Competition for best Shop and Forecourt, said she was thrilled with the recognition. "We are absolutely delighted to have been rewarded with the Gala Gold standard award. One of our goals for 2013 is to once again go for Gold in the Gala B.E.S.T Awards."
Terry Dunne of Dunnes Gala was equally delighted,
"To be recognised as a Silver standard Gala B.E.S.T award winner is a tremendous achievement for our store and acknowledges our focus on customer service. We are so proud to have also received this Award as all of our staff work tirelessly to deliver top quality," said Terry Dunne.
Peter Clifford of Gala Oakpark said the prize was great recognition of his staffs' hard work.
"We are very pleased to have achieved the Bronze standard in the Gala B.E.S.T Awards. We in Gala Oakpark continuously strive to improve our offering to our customers.
