THREE Kerry animal shelters received the exciting news that they are to benefit from the fifth annual 'Pedigree adoptive drive' as €4,250 of the money raised will be donated to their shelters.
The drive raised €100,000 in cash for animal Rescue Centre's across the Country. The three shelters in Kerry benefitting from the successful drive are Animal Help Net Kerry, Tralee; Homes for Unwanted Greyhounds, Beaufort; and Kerry Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Tralee. Ann McDaid ( pictured left), of Kerry SPCA was delighted and shocked to hear that the centre will be receiving such a fantastic donation.
"We received a phone call to say we would be receiving €2,000. I was completely shocked. We are so delighted to get a donation like this as times are tough and every penny helps."
Committee members of Kerry SPCA look forward to getting the money and ensuring the centre stays in top condition.
"The money will go towards the up keep of the place. Thing are very hard at the moment and this will go a long way to helping us go that bit further with what we offer," Ann says.
