NATIONAL TRAILS DAY: Come along to Tarbert on OCTOBER 7, 2012 and take part in one of our 3 Beautiful walks. All walks start at Tarbert Bridewell 2:30pm on October 7, 2012.
Walk 1: Starting from the Bridewell, up the Back of the Hill, down to the banks of the lower Shannon over to the bounds and back onto John F. Leslie Woodland Walk.
Distance, approximately 10 kilometres. Grade; moderate, terrain, Gravel track and woodland walk, Duration approximately 2 hours
Walk 2: Starting from the Bridewell and taking in the magnificent old woodland of the Leslie Estate where Horse Chestnut, Oak, Ash, Beech, Holly, Hazel trees are part of the flora and fauna of the area. Distance: approximately 6.1 kilometres. Grade: easy, terrain, woodland and duration approximately hour and a half.
Walk 3: Take a leisurely stroll along the footpath down the island road and take in the beautiful views of Tarbert Bay including the many species of seabirds feeding on the mudflats. Distance is optional and grade easy the terrain is footpath and duration is at your own pace.
After your walk, take time out among friends and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat at Tarbert Bridewell.
Music Classes for beginners only this Friday night September 28 at 7pm in St. Oliver's National School, Ballylongford. All other students start back on Friday October 5 at usual times.
Set dancing and waltzing with John Stack will start back this Thursday 28 in the GAA Hall, Ballylongford. 6.45 pm for new beginners and 7.15pm for last years class.
Timmy Wolfe is now giving regular set-dancing classes in the Marian Hall, Moyvane and Clounmacon Community Hall on Monday nights and Tuesday nights respectively. 8pm for beginners and 8.30 for others.
BR Ù COLUMBANUS :
A Cookery Demonstration featuring Mark Doe, of Just Cooking.ie, will take place on Thursday October 11, 2012 at 7pm in Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee in aid of Brú Columbanus Cork.
Parishioners not intending to travel to Tralee for the event but would like to make a contribution can do so through St. Mary's Presbytery Tarbert.
